Black Swan began with a simple question, “Why does access to credit depend on who you are, not how you actually manage your money?”
Across Africa, millions of people and businesses earn, trade, and repay every day yet remain invisible to traditional financial systems. We saw an opportunity to change that by rethinking how credit decisions are made.
We built Black Swan to help lenders see the full picture of financial behaviour, using real data from mobile money, banks, and merchant transactions, so that credit can be fairer, faster, and more inclusive.
Today, Black Swan partners with banks, MFIs, fintechs, and merchants to power smarter lending across multiple sectors, from digital loans and devices to vehicles and agriculture.
Our journey is still unfolding, but our mission remains the same; to unlock opportunity by making credit work for everyone.
